How does Honolulu work?
The Honolulu app runs in a web browser. The app manages Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2012 R2, and Windows Server 2012 nodes through the Honolulu gateway that you can install on Windows Server 2016 or Windows 10. The gateway manages servers via Remote PowerShell and WMI over WinRM. The app and gateway both install from a single lightweight .msi package that you can download from this link: https://aka.ms/HonoluluDownload

Working on the honolulu utility is very easy and straight forward. You will understand it another few minutes. Let’s look at the screenshot below.
- Once you complete the setup and launch the application you will get a window as below. Just skip the tour and proceed to next.
2. Now click on the + Add to add the server/failovercluster/Hyper-converged cluster.
3. Here I have selected the Add server connection.Then entered the server name to begin the configuration.
4. While its trying to add the server, if the server does not have the Window management framework (WMF) 5 is not installed it will notify you and you are advised to complete the installation to successfully add the server to the console.
5. Once the server is successfully added it will show the server status as online. You can now continue to manage the server by clicking on the server object.
6. The object will display the overview of the server that you have added and it will allow you to remotely perform all most every management tasks from the honolulu console.
