Earlier we had seen how to configure and schedule the mailbox message size on your exchange server. In case if you have configured the settings for a mailbox and don’t have time to wait for the changes to get applied on the mailbox you may want to restart “Microsoft Exchange Information Store service”

Because by default exchange has set this refresh interval to 2 hours, however this can be changed and configured according to our need.  it can be achieved by adding/modifying registry values on your exchange servers.

Recommended Configuration:
As Microsoft recommends lowering the default refresh values will make an impact on your exchange servers in terms of performance as frequent refresh interval will make your AD busy as it performs the lookup so often. So it’s recommended to set the refresh interval value to 20 minutes.
