It’s a most common issue if you are working in a Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES) environment. If you are a BES Admin you will probably receive calls from users stating that they are not receiving emails and even the address look has failed to fetch the address from GAL.

How to resolve this?

First you need to check if the below mentioned services are running in your BES server.

  1. BlackBerry Router
  2. BlackBerry Dispatcher
  3. BlackBerry Controller
  4. All remaining BlackBerry Enterprise Server services

If you see that it’s already started then next thing you can do is a service refresh. Meaning we will need to stop and then start these 4 services in an order to get the mails working on Blackberry.

First go to your Administrative  tools in BES server and open the Services.  Then follow the below order to start and stop the service.

Stop Order

  1. BlackBerry Controller
  2. BlackBerry Dispatcher
  3. BlackBerry Router
  4. All remaining BlackBerry Enterprise Server services

Start Order

  1. BlackBerry Router
  2. BlackBerry Dispatcher
  3. BlackBerry Controller
  4. All remaining BlackBerry Enterprise Server services

After this procedure you will see the service working on Blackberry devices.
